Tennis Bracelets

A tennis bracelet is a flexible bracelet set with a continuous line of diamonds of matched size and shape, held by small prongs or bezels along a track that moves with the wrist. The name comes from a 1987 US Open match where Chris Evert stopped play to look for hers. It sits close to the wrist rather than draping.

A tennis bracelet stays on through its clasp, so the clasp is the part to ask about. Fine tennis bracelets close with a box clasp plus a safety catch, which gives you two points of hold rather than one. Have it checked once a year, the same way you would a ring's prongs, and bring it into the Frisco showroom if it ever feels loose.

Stone matching first. A line where every diamond matches its neighbor in color and cut costs more than one assembled from mixed parcels, and on a bracelet you see all of them at once. After that it is the gold weight in the track, the setting style, and whether the diamonds are lab-grown or natural.

It should sit loose enough to rotate freely but tight enough that it will not slide over the hand. A finger's width of room between the bracelet and the wrist is the usual test. Measure your wrist snugly with a tape and add about half an inch. A line can be shortened or extended at the showroom if the fit is not right.
