The everyday earring

A huggie hugs the lobe. A hoop makes more of an entrance. We make both in 14K and 18K gold: pave huggies small enough to live in, inside-out hoops set with emerald-cut diamonds, three-row huggies, even a tsavorite snake. Diamonds from 0.03 carats for a second piercing to twenty-nine carats for a night that deserves them.

Shop by style

Want diamonds only? The diamond hoop earrings hold every diamond pair. Pair a huggie with the stud earrings across a double piercing. Everything lives in the full earrings collection.

Hoops & Huggies: Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a hoop and a huggie earring?

A huggie is a small hoop, generally 7mm to 13mm across, that sits tight against the lobe on a hinged closure. A hoop is larger and hangs away from the ear, with sizes here reaching two inches. The construction is the same. What changes is the diameter, the weight on the lobe, and how much the earring moves as you do.

What hoop earring size should I choose?

For a first pair, 12mm to 15mm reads as an everyday hoop and stays within the line of the lobe. Under 10mm reads as a huggie and works well in a second piercing. From 1.5 inches up, the hoop sits below the lobe and becomes the piece people notice first. Every product page lists the diameter in millimetres or inches.

How do hoop and huggie earrings fasten?

Most huggies use a hinged snap closure. The hoop swings open at one side, passes through the lobe, and clicks shut. Larger hoops use either a hinged closure or a post and latch. Neither needs a separate back you can lose. Every piece carries the Free Lifetime Warranty, so a closure that loosens over time comes back to us.

Can I wear hoop earrings every day?

Yes, and the smaller sizes are built for it. A 12mm hoop or a huggie in 14K gold weighs very little and stays put through a working day. Take them out for the pool, the shower, and the gym, since chlorine and soap dull gold over time. A wipe with a soft dry cloth keeps the finish bright between wears.
