Baguette Necklaces

A baguette is a diamond cut, not a type of stone. It is a long rectangle with flat step facets running parallel to the edges, named after the shape of the bread. Tapered baguettes narrow at one end. Because the facets are broad and flat, a baguette gives long clean flashes of light rather than scattered sparkle.

They do different jobs, which is why most pieces here use both. Round brilliants scatter light into small points of fire. Baguettes hold longer, flatter reflections and read as architecture, giving the design a line to follow. On a cross or a butterfly, baguettes usually draw the outline while rounds fill the surface.
