What makes it a mangalsutra? The black beads. Strung through the gold, they are believed to protect the marriage, and the necklace is traditionally tied by the groom at the wedding. The name joins two Sanskrit words: mangala, auspicious, and sutra, thread.

Dainty, for every day
Small enough to wear under a collar and forget it is there.
The Petite Round carries a little cluster of diamonds, 0.84 carats. The Initial carries one pave letter, yours or someone you love.
Halos and clusters
A ring of small diamonds around the center stone, so it catches the light from across the room.
The Round Halo sets 1.43 carats in one round halo. The Three Stone Halo sets three, 2.32 carats, at the center of the chain.
Stations
Diamonds spaced along the chain, between the black beads. Traditional across the room, modern up close.
The Princess Station sets princess cuts on point, 3.5 carats. The Graduated grows toward the center, nearly three carats.
Tennis and riviera
For weddings, anniversaries and the nights you want the full effect.
The Diamond Tennis runs 73 diamonds across the front, 6.57 carats. The Emerald Cut Tennis trades emerald cuts with ovals at choker length, 7.4 carats. And at the top of the collection, the Emerald Cut Riviera: twelve carats, all the way around.
Double strand and long
The Double Strand Emerald and Pear puts an emerald cut on one strand and a pear on the other, 4.27 carats. The layered look, already done.
The Long Station is the one to wear long, doubled or knotted.

Diamond or gold?
Both. The gold is the chain. The diamonds are the pendant or the stations.
Every design comes in 14K or 18K, yellow, white or rose. 18K is warmer in color. 14K is a little harder, which suits a piece you never take off.
Each one is shown in lab-grown diamonds and can be made in natural diamonds instead. We will tell you honestly what each means for your piece and your budget. Diamonds of one carat and above come certified by GIA or IGI.

Karwa Chauth, also spelled Karva Chauth, is the day married women fast from sunrise to moonrise for their husbands. It is also a night for a gift.

Pick the length first. Short sits at the collarbone and works with a work blouse. Long layers over everything.
Layer with one piece at most. A fine chain or a small pendant in the same gold, about two inches apart.
Keep two if you like. A dainty one for every day, a tennis or riviera for weddings.
