Most of our bangles flex open to slip over the hand; see the flexible bracelets for the full set. A tennis bracelet beside a gold bangle is the start of a stack. Everything lives in the full bracelets collection.
Concierge at every step
Seema Fine Jewelry is a woman-founded studio with a showroom in Frisco, at The Shops at Starwood. Seema has spent twenty years helping women build stacks that mix new gold with the bangles handed down to them. Bring your wrist size or bring the heirlooms, in the showroom or over video. Book a consultation and the team will build the stack with you.
Bangles & Cuffs: Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a bangle and a cuff?
A bangle is a closed circle with no opening, so it has to pass over the widest part of your hand and then rest on the wrist. A cuff is open at the back and slips on sideways, which makes it easier to put on and slightly adjustable. Bangles stack more cleanly against each other. Cuffs sit more securely on a smaller wrist.
How do I find my bangle size?
Measure across the widest part of your hand with your thumb tucked into your palm, then match that measurement to the bangle's inside diameter. If the number falls between two sizes, take the larger one, because a bangle that will not clear the knuckle cannot be worn at all. The team in Frisco will measure you and can order a bangle to a specific diameter.
How many gold bangles should I wear at once?
There is no rule, and the stack is the point. In many Indian families a set of gold bangles is worn daily and added to over years, which is why these bangles are built to sit flush against each other rather than compete. Two thin bangles read quiet. Four or more read as a set. Mixing a plain band with a diamond one breaks up the light.
Can gold bangles be worn every day?
Yes, and they take more knocks than any other bracelet because a wrist meets desks, car doors and steering wheels all day. 14K gold is the harder-wearing alloy and a lower-profile setting protects the stones. Take them off for the gym and for anything involving weights. Small dents in gold can be pushed out and polished at the showroom.
